so im running a an aem standalone, and three pod gauges(boost, exh temp, and oil pressure) my oil pressure gauge isnt giving me a reading it just bounces randomly from the max to the min reading, i think there is a bad ground somewhere, or maybe the gauge system just is crap, keep in mind that i brought the car with this system in it so i have no info on it, was just wondering what i should look for when i take the car apart and start searching for the problem.

i would start by looking at the wires connecting to the pressure sender , the pressure reading is based on the resistance across those two wires so if one of them is loose then it will go all over the place. the sender is screwed into the engine somewhere, often on a sandwich plate under your oil filter

Thanks, I'll start the checking of the wires and look for the sensor this Sunday, beside that I was thinking of getting some new gauges because I really can read the gauges during the day, any suggestions?? If u have any questions on my set up I'll b happy to answer

So I checked on the wireing of the oil pressure gauge and there was only one wire going to the "sender"(cyclinder looking thing that has a t joint connected to it which leads into the block) anyways I traced the wires that lead from the gauge and I didn't see any loose or broken wires, only one wire with metal loop crimpted onto it and attached to the "sender" by a nut, I have photos if anyone is interested in helping fix this

Aem guages ar very bright and good-looking. i suggest u get the serial gauge since u have a standalone, assuming it's an AEM EMS. It connects to your standalone and basically displays anything that the AEM senses. I have it and it comes in handy when i'm trying to troubleshoot or make sure everything is okay all around.

Yes I have the aem ems, I was looking at the serial gauge I just didn't know if I needed it cuz I have aem af gauge, does the serial gauge come with oil pressure sensors or boost silaniod( I have a manual boost controller, so I was thinking about getting the tru- boost gauge they have, anyone have experince with it, or will the serial gauge b plenty?

NO! the serial gauge hooks up to the AEM and relays what the AEM knows. So, it doesnt have or come with any sensors..
