How much was ur sc300????

Hey guys i'm about to buy a 92 sc300 mt. he's asking 3k. the car has no hood, interior is all in a box, and paint needs work. the good things about the car are, it has a cf trunk, supra bbk, no hood so cf is going on.the car runs and drives like normal. the car has over 100k miles. how much u guys think i should be paying? oh its also white. would u guys think paying 3k and him paying for a hood is fair? oh also i will be trying to build a daily driver/ weekend racer.

thanks for the help

check for leaks, rust, previous accidents [look to see if its been repainted] (run a carfax w/ the vin) if its not salvage title thats a good price. and it never hurts to offer 2500$ and see what they say. especially if your paying cash they probably will go for it. oh and how many miles are on the car that makes a big difference if its over 200k definately offer 2500.

$500. SC300's in stock NA form are not worth what they're selling for...trust me on this.

I paid 5k for mine and definitely got ripped off. I am basically having to invest alot of money to make this car nice again:

Complete new interior
Engine rebuild
Tranny rebiuld
New lights
New paint
Complete stereo
Rebuild suspension

And the list goes on. It is not THAT big of a deal since I was going to do all of this anyways as a project car, but I do feel I paid way too much and if i had looked around longer I would have been better off.

well the sc i'm looking at is not a salvage. and he said has about 150k on it. no major accidents. and interior is stripped out so half the work is already done. basically i wanna build a track/highway monster.

I had two of them at one point, now just back down to one.

1992 SC300 (still have).

Paid $4200. 110k miles. Garnet with gray interior. Had new daizen bushings installed on the whole car. New brakes, new needles, ice cold AC, ran beautiful and still does, slightly modified (lol understatement)

I also had a 1993 SC300 that i paid $1200 for.
It ran mint, ice cold AC. Leather was pretty bad, paint bad, but no dents. Had a faulty ECU, wouldnt go into OD, guy thought it was a bad tranny and sold the car cause lexus quoted him $$$$$$ to fix. The OD light was flashing and I knew it wasnt the tranny. Drove it home, put my spare 2JZGE ecu in, ran like a champ. Within a month i also 1JZGTE swapped it, repainted it, fixed the interior leather, and put some rims on it. Gave it to my wife, and she drove it to work and back for a year. Never a single problem

Sold it for $5500 (yes 1jz), cause I had no love for it (thats what the other car is for) and bought the wife a BMW. The current owner of it beat the shit out of it, blew the turbos, dented it, etc.. Its sad.

paid 3200 for my 95 sc300 auto dpw/repainted rebuilt title 200k miles.

interior isn't great, suspension was shot (replaced with coilovers).

just welded the rear differential and took it to its first drift event this past weekend and did suprisingly well for the weight and low power it has.

My friend John just bought a clean title very nice 1993 Black on Tan 5spd with 160k miles for $2700. It has slotted brake rotors, HKS exhaust, and a upgraded clutch, some other goodies.

The kicker is.. the guy thought the motor was blown and wanted it gone. Would barely run, and had NO power. It had a bad mass air, bad in a way so it would no tthrow a code, and lexus wanted $$$$$$ to fix the car for him, so he put it forsale.

When we bought it, we drove around the block, and installed another spare sensor I had collecting dust. Drove it to John's house. Runs like a champ!

Now we are just waiting on his Soarer VVTI 1JZ-GTE to arrive

i have a lexus soarer 1991 J reg manual pearl white with the following mods..

full straight through exhaust
hks bov
hks mushroom induction kit
hks turbo timer
chipped
full bomex body kit

i paid 700

i was told the head gasket was gone but turns out it was the turbos, either way that was a bargin i think.

needs full respray but i can get that for 1k, also needed new exhaust as its rusting but i needed a bigger bore for the single turbo conversion im doing anyway.

so would have cost me in the end around 2000 for a manual soarer :d

but im also doing single turbo conversion so costing alot more.

i paid 1800 for my 93 5speed . it needed a good bit of work. i had to buy/ repaint the entire interior, all new locks and so forth. it still is not road ready. i still lack some door panels and carpet and the time and money to do it. then i will be going na-t. i need a month off of work a lot of tools and place to work on it lol.

i paid 4500 for mine. 150k miles. everything works and ran perfect... the AC was acting up a lil and gave out shortly after... needed new pads. had a broken door handle on the inside, the neeldes dont light up. interior and exterior looked great. and it came with some nasty wheels but i sold them for about 600

and a lil bit of work and money it now looks like this, about 3 months after i bought it

$4200 with 120k miles bone stock hotness back in 2005. Now it looks like this, with a 600hp 1jzgte.

This summer it's finally getting a make over. A paint job, with a version:select body kit, megan coil overs, bomex spoiler and new black tint. Maybe 97 tails, i'm time for something new.

Tails (oops exhaust hanger broke)
